For those on this list that don't know Jesus, YOU NEED TO BE BORN AGAIN. You need to REPENT of your sins (Matthew 4:17) and BELIEVE that Jesus died for YOUR sins, was buried and rose again the third day (I Corinthians 15:1-4). And having come to Him for cleansing FROM your sins (Matthew 1:21), you need to follow the Lord Jesus and OBEY His word (Hebrews 5:9). Antinomians turn the GRACE of God into LASCIVIOUSNESS. We come to Jesus to be cleansed FROM sin (Matt 1:21), but Antinomians, the lawless ones, only preach a Saviour from hell who does not care how you live.] ***********INTRO*********** We have a true life video entitled, "Beyond the Next Mountain". It is based on the life of a man named Rochunga. Here's a short sketch I found on the net-- "Tucked away in the north east corner of India between Bangladesh and Mynamar is the state of Manipur. The Hmar tribe lives there - a people who no more than a couple of generations ago were fierce headhunters. In 1908 a young Welshman called Watkin Roberts entered the region and five days later was expelled by the authorities; but, during that time, five young Hmars came to faith in Christ. One of them, Chawnga, followed Watkin Roberts out of the region. He spent time with him, memorized the whole of John's Gospel - the only Scriptures available to them - and returned to his tribal people. There this uneducated man preached in the villages and great numbers of the Hmar believed. "Subsequently CHAWNGA DECIDED THAT THE HMAR PEOPLE NEEDED THE SCRIPTURES IN THEIR OWN TONGUE. But as no missionaries were allowed in the region and as he was illiterate, the only hope lay in his young son, ROCHUNGA aged 10 years. "Ro" WAS accordingly SENT OFF TO SCHOOL TO LEARN HOW TO READ AND WRITE AND EVENTUALLY TRANSLATE THE BIBLE INTO THE HMAR LANGUAGE - which he did! "Rochunga Pudaite is now in his seventies, a tiny dynamo of a man, with a vision and energy that will not quit. He is President of the Evangelical Free Church of India, a denomination of 300 churches with 43,000 members and Christian schools educating more than 10,000 students. For the last few days I have been with "Ro" and his wife, Mawi, in Manipur ministering to the General Assembly of the Hmar church. I have roamed the world, preaching the Word, for more than 40 years; but, this is one engagement I will never forget..." Tracy's note: Rochunga and his wife, once tribal people, have sent out millions of Bibles all over the world. They've established all kinds of schools and hospitals. When you consecrate yourself and your goods to Jesus, the Holy Ghost will work MIRACLES through you. *************ROCHUNGA'S PATH TO THE HORIZON*********** In the video, Beyond the Next Mountain, Chawnga (Rochunga's father) had a burden for his people to have the Bible in their own language. He knew that they needed the scriptures so they could believe and grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. HIS PEOPLE DID NOT EVEN HAVE A WRITTEN LANGUAGE, but the Lord put a burden on him that his people should be able to read the Bible. He told his little son, Rochunga, to go to school to learn English so that he could translate the Bible into their language. Rochunga did that, but as he grew older, money started to draw him into the world. His father found Rochunga in the marketplace selling his wares and told him that translating the Bible into the Hmar language was his (Rochunga's) path to the horizon. Bible translation was his critical work to complete on his way to the kingdom. Rochunga was from a tribe that had no written language and was only a generation removed from being a headhunter. But his father Chawnga believed in the Lord and prayed. His father told him to go see the Prime Minister of India so Rochunga could get a scholarship. Rochunga told his dad, you have to be big to see the prime minister. His dad said "I'll pray." Rochunga got to see the prime minister of India. Got sent to all kinds of universities. Developed a written language for his people. Learned English, Hebrew, and Greek. And yes, he translated the Bible into the language of his people. In the video, when the shipment of Bibles came to Chawnga (Rochunga's father), Chawnga went to his mountain and took that Bible and lifted it high above his head to heaven, GLORY, and presented BACK to God what God ordained in the first place. Glory to Your name Jesus. When God gives us a burden and a path to the horizon, we strive to fulfill it by the working of the Holy Ghost and then when it comes out right, we present it right back to the Father that ordained it in the first place. Glory to the Lamb. **************MY PATH TO THE HORIZON*************** I was not thinking about this story when I went to my prayer closet this morning. I'm sure its been months since I last saw it. But as I prayed and blessed God for the beautiful gifts and writings that He has given to me to instruct me, it came to my prayers that I have a path to the horizon. God does not give me knowledge and understanding just for myself. It is to be communicated to others. In my prayer time, I understood that my path is to bring light into obscurity. The church is in darkness. It got that way by the influx of men ignorant and unlearned in the ways of God. These grievous wolves have taught in many seminaries, preached many sermons, and written many books. They have influenced multitudes. They have covered the earth like water. Even after they die and go to hell, their writings and teachings keep on spreading. A man may have a Phd, but that does not mean that they know the Lord. The wolves, as prophesied, have crept into the church and brought obscurity and darkness with them. The darkness they bring is FALSE DOCTRINE. Then when people come to get saved, they get taught WRONG and they are in darkness. My path to the horizon is to carry my little torch in the midst of this vast and utter darkness. This is manifested in our two websites and my several ministries to the women I know. Sometimes it doesn't seem like much meeting with a sister here or two over there, but the Lord saves us one-by-one and He talked to people one by one like the Samaritan woman. These are grievous days, but the Lord is teaching me to be calm in my soul and fulfill my path to the horizon. A man is not crowned except he strive lawfully. I have to do what the Lord has given me to do. I have to be faithful with these works. **********SHINE************ As these things came to me in prayer, the scripture that came to mind was "and the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not". This was and is a comfort to me. Though the apostasy is very great, the world is dark, and the hereticks seem to have all the books, all the radio shows, all the tv shows, all the "evangelistic" crusades, all the schools, all the seminaries, etc. STILL THE LIGHT SHINETH IN DARKNESS AND THE DARKNESS COMPREHENDED IT NOT. The darkness will NEVER overtake the light, no matter how much darkness there is. As long as we are light, we SHALL shine. When you have light, there cannot be darkness. Light illuminates darkness, darkness does not drown out light. Light overtakes darkness, not the reverse. When I shine and walk in the light, in the way of the Lord, I shall not fear the terror by night nor the arrow that flieth by day. Lord, let me be calm in my soul and fulfill my path to the horizon. Professed Christians live defeated lives cause they've embraced darkness and not light. "I'm just a sinner..." "Dracula is coming on HBO tonight..." "The Sci-Fi channel is my favorite!" "Who do you think will be the next president?" "My husband get on my nerves!" We are so busy living our lives we don't show Christian hospitality ( www.jesus-is-lord.com/famhosp.htm for tips), we don't feed the poor, visit the sick and the prisoner, we don't praise Jesus, we don't read the Bible, we don't pray unless we are begging for some temporal thing, etc. What we do do is live for this world and the cares of this life is choking people out that they become unfruitful. Many people think that they are saved when in actuality, they need to be born again. In the parable of the sower, only one of those people is saved--the one that fell on good ground and bore fruit (see Mark 4:1-20). My candle may not be the biggest, hottest one, but it is still shinin'...glory to the name of Jesus. These thoughts in my head brought to mind the Waldensian motto-- "Lux Lucet in Tenebris" The light shineth in darkness. *******************WHAT IS *YOUR* PATH TO THE HORIZON?************** Many of us Christians are very busy chasing down the worst news we can find. We're like the Athenians-- Acts 17:21 (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.) Many of us don't know our path to the horizon, we don't even know our spiritual gifts. We come to the internet because we want the latest juicy news. Being a newsmonger and spreading what you hear is NOT carrying the light that shineth in darkness. My Christian friend, what is YOUR path to the horizon? You do have one...Find out and walk in it until you get to glory. *************CONCLUSION************** John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 1:5 AND THE LIGHT SHINETH IN DARKNESS; AND THE DARKNESS COMPREHENDED IT NOT.
