In the midst of all this meditation on Deception, I have an important piece of advice for all of my friends. LOVE THE TRUTH--LET IT OVERRIDE ANY OF YOUR LUSTS OR PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS. People are deluded because THEY DO NOT RECEIVE THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH (II Thes 2:10-12). [For those who've recently joined this list: I suggest that you read the previous "Deception" emails ( http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/injesus.htm ), in order to see where we are going. These emails are for SAVED people. If you have not been saved from the dominion of sin, please see http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/2_heaven.htm ] ****OUR THIRD ENEMY**** At the end of Deception III, we asked the question, "Who are the deceivers?" We've since learned about two of them-- (1) our own heart/flesh; and, (2) the devil. ...And now we learn of our third, and final, deceiver-- (3) the world. Understanding of the precepts in this email is very important for future "Deception" emails. *******THE WORLD DEFINED******** "The world" refers to all of **DISOBEDIENT** MANKIND. You see, God only classifies people into two categories--obedient to His word and disobedient to His word. Antinomians insist that "the sinner's prayer" differentiates men, BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT GOD SAYS. Men are not going to hell because they did not say "the sinner's prayer", THEY ARE GOING TO HELL BECAUSE THEY ARE **DISOBEDIENT** TO THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST-- II Thessalonians 1:8 In flaming fire **TAKING VENGEANCE** ON THEM THAT KNOW NOT GOD, AND THAT **OBEY NOT** THE GOSPEL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST: Don't let the antinomians fool you. The world is going to hell because of SIN--they are **DISOBEDIENT**-- Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 3:6 **FOR** WHICH THINGS' SAKE **THE WRATH OF GOD** COMETH ON THE CHILDREN OF **DISOBEDIENCE:** 3:7 In the which ye also walked some time, WHEN ye lived in them. [now I walk in faith and obedience and do not live in sin] Ephesians 5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5:5 For this ye know, that ***NO*** whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath ANY inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 5:6 LET NO MAN **DECEIVE** YOU WITH VAIN WORDS [antinomians]: FOR **BECAUSE OF** THESE THINGS COMETH **THE WRATH OF GOD** UPON THE CHILDREN OF **DISOBEDIENCE**. 5:7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but NOW are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 5:10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. "The world" consists of those who are **DISOBEDIENT**--whether church sinner or street sinner. These people DO NOT OBEY the truth-- Romans 2:8 But unto them that are contentious, and DO **NOT OBEY** THE TRUTH, BUT **OBEY** UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, indignation and wrath, I Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of THEM THAT **OBEY NOT** THE GOSPEL OF GOD? **WHY THE WORLD REJECTS "THE LORD"** The world (including antinomians) rejects **THE LORD** Jesus Christ. Even some atheists and witches will accept Jesus as a "good, moral teacher"--but as "Lord", NEVER. You see, "Lord" means that He is ruling over you and changing your unlawful deeds. AND THEY DON'T WANT THAT. They want sci-fi channel, pornography, foolish talk and jesting, adultery, divorce, fornication, etc. "THE LORD" is a stumbling block to those who want to continue walking in sin, THE DISOBEDIENT. He gets in the way of their "fun" by convicting them of their unlawful deeds. They want to fornicate, but then comes, "thou shalt not commit adultery". They don't want to hear that "Bible stuff". The Lord Jesus said this to his unbelieving brethren-- "The world cannot hate you; but ME IT HATETH, BECAUSE I TESTIFY OF IT, THAT THE WORKS THEREOF ARE EVIL." John 7:7 The world hates **THE LORD** Jesus Christ because the world is **DISOBEDIENT** and they don't want to be corrected. He is a stumblingblock to their pleasures in sin-- 1 Peter 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he [Jesus] is precious: but UNTO THEM WHICH **BE DISOBEDIENT**, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 2:8 AND A STONE OF STUMBLING, AND A ROCK OF OFFENCE, even to them which STUMBLE AT THE WORD, **BEING DISOBEDIENT**: whereunto also they were appointed. John 3:20 For EVERY ONE THAT DOETH EVIL **HATETH** THE LIGHT, NEITHER COMETH to the light, **LEST HIS DEEDS SHOULD BE REPROVED**. The world is DISOBEDIENT. Now, let's talk about the saints... ****CHILDREN OF OBEDIENCE**** When we believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, we become children of OBEDIENCE. We walk according to the precepts of the Bible and not according to the course of this nasty world. WE **OBEY** THE WORD. People who have been under the false gospel of antinomianism do not believe this. Therefore I will include a number of scriptures to establish this doctrine. Look for derivatives of "obey"-- Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal SALVATION UNTO ALL THEM THAT **OBEY** HIM; Romans 6:16-17 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, HIS SERVANTS YE ARE TO WHOM YE **OBEY**; WHETHER OF SIN UNTO DEATH, OR OF **OBEDIENCE** UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS? But God be thanked, that ye **WERE** the servants of sin, BUT YE HAVE **OBEYED** FROM THE HEART THAT FORM OF DOCTRINE WHICH WAS DELIVERED YOU. 1 Peter 1:22 Seeing YE HAVE PURIFIED YOUR SOULS IN **OBEYING** THE TRUTH through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Romans 15:18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, TO MAKE THE GENTILES **OBEDIENT**, by word and deed, Romans 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, FOR **OBEDIENCE** TO THE FAITH among all nations, for his name: Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations FOR THE **OBEDIENCE** OF FAITH: Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always **OBEYED**, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING. I Peter 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, UNTO **OBEDIENCE** and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied. I Peter 1:14 As **OBEDIENT** children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: Saying, "I'm a Christian" does not make you one and it does not prove that you are one. Your life and your works manifest who you are--whether a child of obedience or a child of disobedience. That's why the Lord Jesus said ye shall know the tree by his fruit (Matt 7:16, 20; Matt 12:33) and every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire (Luke 3:9). John tells us how to be assured of our salvation-- 1 John 2:3 And **HEREBY** we do know that we know him, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. 2:4 HE THAT SAITH, I KNOW HIM, AND KEEPETH NOT HIS COMMANDMENTS, **IS A LIAR**, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. 2:5 **BUT WHOSO KEEPETH HIS WORD**, in him verily is the love of God perfected: **HEREBY** KNOW WE THAT WE ARE IN HIM. Christians are OBEDIENT people. Works do not save us, faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ does (if you don't know the gospel, please see http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/2_heaven.htm). But REAL faith will **PRODUCE** good works and OBEDIENCE to the faith. That is what James is trying to tell us when he says that faith is made perfect by works (James 2:14-26). Faith alone, with no works, IS A DEAD THING. EVEN DEVILS BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST--and they are certainly not saved. Yet the devils have more fear of God than church people do--for at least they tremble. Your belief has to exceed that of the devils and the Pharisee hypocrites. YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE TO THE LEVEL OF **DOING** WHAT GOD SAYS. Be ye DOERS OF THE WORD, and not hearers only, **DECEIVING** YOUR OWN SELVES (James 1:22). So many professed Christians make excuses for why they are disobedient. They tell me that I'm self-righteous. BUT THE SCRIPTURES say that Christians WERE disobedient-- Titus 3:3 For we ourselves also ***WERE*** sometimes foolish, **DISOBEDIENT**, DECEIVED, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. Tell me, my friend--based on the scriptures--WHO would tell you that you cannot obey God and live holy? GOD OR THE DEVIL? Answer me, WHO? You know it's the devil. If you are walking in sin today, you are of the devil-- 1 John 3:8 HE THAT COMMITTETH SIN IS OF THE DEVIL; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. FOR THIS PURPOSE THE SON OF GOD WAS MANIFESTED, THAT HE MIGHT DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL. 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and **THE CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL: WHOSOEVER DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD**, neither he that loveth not his brother. To get to the holy God, you must be holy. Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord (ref. Heb 12:14...see also Heb 12:10, I The 4:7, Eph 4:24; II Cor 7:1; Rom 6:19, 22). Nothing unclean shall dwell in God's heaven. All dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie is outside of the kingdom of God. Sin is what keeps people out. King Jesus came to save His people FROM their sins, not IN their sins. Talk about holiness as a requisite to the Christian life is not heard in many churches today--this silence is part and parcel of the great deception. We don't even know what we are saved FROM-- SIN. Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for HE SHALL SAVE HIS PEOPLE *******FROM THEIR SINS*******. Man preaches a Saviour from hell, but God sent a Saviour from SIN. Zachariah testifies that God sent us an horn of salvation to deliver us from our enemies so that we may serve the Lord without fear "in HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS before him, all the days of our life" (Luke 1:75). The gospel tendency is towards HOLINESS. I remember a new convert sitting at our dining room table and asking me if I listened to secular music. I said no. He replied that his secular music was not sounding the same any more. I then had the opportunity to tell him about the sanctifying work of the Holy Ghost. He changes your desires and makes you HOLY. Anybody who hates holiness is not of God. The world hates holiness and so do many church people. That's because they have the same spirit. Now, onto... *****THE GOD OF THIS WORLD***** According to II Corinthians 4:4, the devil is "the god of this world". Whole nations have been delivered into his hand-- Luke 4:5 And THE DEVIL, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him ALL the **KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD** in a moment of time. 4:6 And the devil said unto him, ALL THIS POWER WILL I GIVE THEE, AND THE GLORY OF THEM: FOR **THAT IS DELIVERED UNTO ME; AND TO WHOMSOEVER I WILL I GIVE IT**. 4:7 IF THOU THEREFORE WILT WORSHIP ME, ALL SHALL BE THINE. The devil is the general overseer of this whole wicked world--he is RULING it. As THE GOVERNOR OF THE WORLD, the devil wields his tyrannical power in every city, house, vale, jungle, desert, tundra, mountain, valley, riverboat, forest, farm, suburb, seagoing vessel, igloo, teepee, hut, etc...anywhere and everywhere you find man. Mankind is under his evil sway and he keeps them there by blinding their minds with SIN (more on this in a later email). He offers man money, whoredom, power, goods, drugs, food, books, hellivision, and any other distraction that the human belly/appetite wants. And the world cannot get enough of the devil and his offerings. "More! More!" they cry. Though most men do not attain to any status in the kingdom of the world, THEY DIE TRYING TO GET IT. In reality there are only two kingdoms in this world--the kingdom of God or the kingdom of the world. And two peoples: the children of God and the children of the devil who heads up the world. Every person is operating under the spiritual headship of one kingdom or the other. 1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, NOT THE SPIRIT OF THE WORLD, BUT THE SPIRIT WHICH IS OF GOD; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. The Spirit of God is working in the saints and THE DEVIL is the spirit that is working in ALL the children of disobedience-- Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to THE COURSE OF THIS **WORLD**, ACCORDING TO THE PRINCE OF THE POWER OF THE AIR, **THE SPIRIT** that now worketh in the CHILDREN OF **DISOBEDIENCE**: Why is all this important for our discussion on Deception? AS THE RULER OF THIS WORLD, THE DEVIL USES "THE WORLD"/DISOBEDIENT MANKIND (INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF CHURCHES), TO DISSEMINATE AND EXECUTE HIS LIES--AND TO WAR AGAINST THE SAINTS. ****WARS**** The world (spurned on by the devil) is your enemy and wants YOU to join it in sin and rebellion against God. It is therefore constantly tempting you. The world is impudent (shameless) in its quest to create more freaks. You may not go out to a nightclub, but they'll try to get you at a grocery store checkout counter (everybody goes to the grocery store)--with a magazine rack full of half naked whores, bad advice, whoremongers, fornication tips, sodomites, murder mysteries, romance & horror novels, etc. And all of it is screaming "Look on me, am I not interesting? Don't you want this? You don't have to restrain yourself from anything that you want. Do what feels good. I know that my doctrine is the exact opposite of the Bible but ye shall not surely die. Come on, it'll be amusing." Don't be fooled by that pig slop. Get outside of the flesh and see the enticements for what they really are--the DISOBEDIENT trying to lure you into their cesspool. Okay, let's say that you refuse the world. You're no longer in their system. You've overcome the cesspool. DON'T THINK THAT THEY WILL LEAVE YOU ALONE. The world is relentless. When you refuse to join them, **THEN** PERSECUTION starts kicking in-- 2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and ***ALL*** that will live godly in Christ Jesus SHALL SUFFER PERSECUTION. You either join the world OR they persecute you. If you are unaquainted with persecution, you need to take a good look at yourself. Many of us are sitting around waiting for Armaggedon when THERE IS A WAR GOING ON RIGHT NOW! SKIRMISHES **EVERY** DAY. 1 Timothy 1:18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest **WAR A GOOD WARFARE**; 2 Timothy 2:3-4 Thou therefore ENDURE HARDNESS, AS A GOOD SOLDIER OF JESUS CHRIST. No man that **WARRETH** entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a **SOLDIER**. Philippians 2:25 Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and FELLOWSOLDIER, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants. Philemon 1:2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our FELLOWSOLDIER, and to the church in thy house: Our WAR is not against people, but against THE SPIRITS that are ruling people-- Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle NOT against flesh and blood, but against PRINCIPALITIES, against POWERS, against THE RULERS OF THE DARKNESS OF THIS WORLD, against SPIRITUAL WICKEDNESS IN HIGH PLACES. War, n. A state of OPPOSITION or CONTEST. Opposition, n. 2. The act of opposing; attempt to check, restrain or defeat. he makes opposition to the measure; the bill passed without opposition. Will any opposition be made to the suit, to the claim or demand? 3. Obstacle. the river meets with no opposition in its course to the ocean. 4. Resistance; as the opposition of enemies. Virtue will break through all opposition. Saints are down here OPPOSING this evil world by LIVING OUT AND SHARING our MOST HOLY faith. We dispute, contend and give arguments for our faith. We struggle against the opposition (the flesh, the devil, and the world) that we might war a good warfare by the power of the living God. As a result of our efforts, people have been leaving the world's system generation by generation and joining our holy army. Our OPPOSITION prevents the world from filling the whole earth with only lies. From righteous Abel until now (6,000 years later), the saints have LIVED and PASSED ON the truth in the midst of terribly hostile circumstances (the Lord allows the wrath of man to praise His name--and the remainder of wrath, He restrains, ref. Ps 76:10). You don't fight evil spirits with carnal weapons like guns and knives-- 2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare ARE NOT CARNAL, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) You fight them by calling on God's Almighty power and putting on the whole armour of God (please see Ephesians 6:10-18). The whole armour includes (1) TRUTH--love the truth, study the truth and tell the truth, and (2) RIGHTEOUSNESS--be right, that means your life and thoughts line up with God's word, and (3) the GOSPEL OF PEACE with God. King Jesus came to reconcile us to God. To replace our rebellion with peace and filial love towards God. (4) FAITH in Jesus. YOU HAVE TO KEEP THIS SHIELD UP ALL THE TIME. Faith will quench and extinguish everything that the devil sends your way. He may kill a family member--but instead of getting mad, faith can say, "God is STILL good." Dart quenched. (5) SALVATION--understand that you have been redeemed from the bondage of sin and liability to eternal death in hell. (6) PRAYERS AND WATCHINGS AND SUPPLICATIONS. In prayer, remember those who are still in the gall of bitterness and wickedness. They need to be saved. Ask the Lord to give you strength and annointing to witness and represent Him at the highest level that you can. If you resist the devil steadfast in the faith he will FLEE from you-- James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. RESIST THE DEVIL, and HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU. Live right and you will put the devil on the run instead of him running you. The worst the devil can do is have evil men kill your body. But even then, you can say with the Psalmist-- Psalms 76:10 SURELY THE WRATH OF MAN SHALL PRAISE THEE: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain. Worldwide killing time is rapidly approaching. But it is by degrees so that most Christians are not sensible to it. Besides, they are counting on a "pre-trib rapture". For those who are counting on that, "What makes you think that you are too good to suffer?" Our big, fat, lazy church needs the fires of tribulation to try us and purify us. The wheat WILL be separated from the chaff. This is war, and the world hates us with the hatred of the devil himself.
