As we speed towards the end of this thing called time, we are entering into a time of tribulation and horror unparalleled in human history. AND WE ARE DOING IT BY DEGREES. The devil can't tell just one lie that the whole world will accept so he has to lie and deceive by stages/generations--over decades, centuries, millenia. At each stage, the devil deceives by craft. Craft is cunning art or skill employed to effect DECEIT. It was by craft that he brought down Adam and Eve. The devil's objective in Eden was to subdue and kill mankind. But he didn't say to Eve, "I want to kill you." He started by questioning God's instruction to her. Then he contradicted God's instruction. Then he promised her a promotion to a god if she ate the fruit. She foolishly did it and death came down. The devil's goal was always to entice her to disobey God (thereby killing her--"in the day that ye eat thereof ye shall surely die"), but he used craft or temptation by arts to achieve the goal. And the devil has been doing the same thing to mankind ever since--temptating by arts. Another interesting point is the role of Babel. The devil wants the whole world under his domain. Because of the confusion that God released at Babel, it has taken all these thousands of years to get back to a place where he will be able to communicate with all mankind AT ONE TIME...and this is only because God is permitting him to do so. *********ENTERING BY DEGREES******** As we race towards the end, the deception is so veiled and gradual to the conscious mind that you do not know that it is happening unless you are outside of the world's system looking for it. Mankind is being swiftly carried on currents of deception towards worshipping the devil...all the while the devil is singing mankind a horror lullaby of flesh-pleasing enticements and amusements. THE FLESH KEEPS PEOPLE ASLEEP. Meanwhile God is warning His people to come out from among them and be ye separate (II Cor 6:17). And those that hear will live. How do we get to the point where the whole world will worship the devil? By degrees...With a given generation, the devil introduces certain sins and practices. With succeeding generations, he adds to those sins and practices. [For a good article that deals with this phenomena, see http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/rock.htm It's about CCM and rock music but it has much bigger implications than just music).] For instance, today in 2003, the sodomites are out in droves on the hell-i-vision, in newspapers, in books, in government, in the workplace, in schools, etc. It wasn't like that in 1850. The sodomite was "in the closet" because even unsaved American society at large would not accept his "immorality". That is not to say that the people in 1850 were not deceived. They just weren't ready for flaming sodomites--yet. But our generation is ready. We can handle it now. How did this happen? BY DEGREES. *****AN ILLUSTRATION FROM 1846***** Let's take a moment here and look back in time. Deception was going on in 1800 too. It wasn't just lazy days, fried chicken, and lemonade--nostalgia can bewitch you. The devil gave the people the sins they could handle, or accept, as a society. It wasn't sodomy, but what he gave was a precursor to what we have today. Here's an illustration-- ...Some years ago, a preacher lent me a book entitled, "Sisters in the Spirit: Three Black Women's Autobiographies of the Nineteenth Century". He thought it would be of interest to me. It was--I purchased my own copy and marked it up. Hear the warning of Mrs. Zilpha Elaw (a sister with clear eyes) who wrote this in her memoirs in **1846**-- "...Take heed what you read: as a tree of knowledge, both of good and evil, IS THE PRESS; it oft times teems with rabid poisons, putting darkness for light, and light for darkness; extolling earthly grandeur and honour, spurious valour and heroism; fixing reputation and character on a false basis; and frequently appearing as the panegyrist of the rankest principles, and the basest vices. Above all shun an infidel, obscene or disloyal newspaper press, which is the scavenger of slander, and the harlequin of character; the masquerade of morals, and the burlesque of religion; the proteus of sentiment, and the dictionary of licentiousness; the seminary of the libertines, and the hot-bed of sedition. Defile not your eyes with the sight of its columns, nor your heart with its proximity. Remember that you are called to be saints, not politicians and newsmongers. Give your cordial preference, therefore, to the Holy Scriptures; carefully read, study, and digest them, especially the title-deeds of the Christian covenant. Endeavour, as far as in you lies, to do the will of God on earth, as it is done in heaven. Imbibe the sentiments and spirit, the temper, disposition and manner of Christ Jesus, your inestimable pattern. Cautiously, diligently, and habitually observe and OBEY the directions and statutes of Christ and his apostles, that your foundation may be built not upon the sand of current traditions and prejudices, but upon the prophets and apostles, Christ Jesus being the chief cornerstone, and THAT YOU MAY BECOME HIS TRUE AND FINISHED DISCIPLES, PERFECT AND ENTIRE, LACKING NOTHING, BUT COMPLETE IN ALL THE WILL OF GOD..." [caps are my emphasis] (p. 52 of Sisters in the Spirit) That was 1846, what would she think if she saw today's society--newspapers, hellivision, theatres, schools...churches? *****THE CASE OF EARL STEPHENS AND HIS BOYS***** Here is a simplistic illustration of how deception by degrees works... ----Earl Stephens was shocked to learn about issue A. But he got used to it and accepted issue A as normal. ----Earl Stephens, Jr. grew up thinking issue A was normal, but he was shocked at issue B. But he got used to it and accepted issues A and B. ----Earl Stephens, III grew up thinking issues A and B were normal, but he was shocked at issue C. But he eventually got used to it and accepted issues A,B, and C. ----Earl Stephens, IV grew up not giving much thought to issues A,B, and C but he knew that everybody accepted them. But he was shocked at issue D. But he eventually got used to it and accepted issues A, B, C, and D. ----...ad nausem... This illustration of the Earl Stephens boys is a simplification of what some call social engineering. The ONLY way that you can get off the rat wheel of passed down deception IS TO BELIEVE THE BIBLE. It will show you that issues A, B, C, and D ARE WRONG, HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WRONG, AND ALWAYS WILL BE WRONG. Only by the Holy Ghost can you get out of this deception. ONLY BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST. I was just as wrapped up in this world's system as anybody else. But I got saved in 1991 by the blood of Jesus, and by His Spirit He started deprogramming me. Now I can see reality. And there are yet other things for me to see. And not me only, but anybody who will believe the Bible. Jesus will break the handcuffs of the devil from off of you. ****ILLUSTRATION #3: CLONING**** Most of us first learned about cloning with Dolly the sheep [aside: in all the hoopla, nobody reported that a virgin can now have a child by means of artificial insemination...]. I don't remember what decade that was, 80s or 90s. But don't think for one minute that they had never cloned a human being. They had probably cloned animals and people a hundred and a thousand times. They felt that the society at large was not ready to hear about cloning until the time of the Dolly the sheep story. Now people are just about ready to hear about human cloning--and when they've perfected how they want to present it, you'll hear a news story on the "first" human clone. Don't think that NIH, John Hopkins, and these biotechnology companies are simply working on a cure for cancer and AIDS. DON'T THINK IT. We don't know the depth of depraved experiments that are going on. Something awful is manifesting but deceived man will not see it. Only those who are outside of the system. "How can you be so sure there were cloning experiments before Dolly?" Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" was published in **1932**. In this book, they not only genetically engineered babies and gestated them outside the womb, but they also used trauma (reminiscent of MK-ULTRA) to program them. THIS WAS 1932. The world was ready for the book and then a few decades (degrees) later, mankind was ready to deal with test tube babies, cloning experiments, etc. The devil waits until the people are dumb enough and conditioned enough (psychology is being heavily used for social engineering) to accept the information. "Brave New World" is on the internet but unless you are strong in the Lord and have a compelling reason to read it, I do not recommend that you read it. I can't gaze on things like that for a long time. Just enough to be able to make my points. You'd be better off reading "Brave New Schools" by Berit Kjos (a Christian) to understand the sinister philosophy underlying global education (to be honest with you, I can't read any of this without plenty of Bible reading and prayer. It will make you nervous.). ******CONCLUSION********** Where are YOU at today, my Christian friend? What are YOUR issues A, B, C, and D? Are you accepting them or rejecting them? If you are compromising, don't think that it goes unnoticed by your children. Many of them will adopt your ways just like the Earl Stephens boys. This is the unfortunate case of many professed Christian families. I've worked with young people for years and some of the hardest ones to work with are those from so-called Christian homes. I suppose it is because they see the hypocrisy firsthand. Since Jesus and the Bible don't mean much to mom and dad they figure He is a waste of time. What a tragedy and what a blasphemy is wrought in our own homes. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: SEEING THOU HAST FORGOTTEN THE LAW OF THY GOD, I WILL ALSO FORGET THY CHILDREN. Our children are so worldly. They do greater abominations than straight up heathen children. We've forgotten how to be Christian families. We don't even know how to serve the Lord. There is a famine in the land...I remember going to my prayer closet and asking the Lord to have someone do a Christian Family Page on the internet. As soon as it came out of my mouth, I said, "Okay, I'll do it." It is an amazing work of God that somebody who was once mowed down to the ground like me would be raised up on high with a good family.
