I am once again very backed up on my emails. As always, it is my intention to answer my friends. The people of God are the most beautiful people in the world... In the last email, we established that the man of sin will not be some tyrannical ruler that everybody hates. He and the devil will be WORSHIPPED by ALL whose names are not in the book of life. That includes all church hypocrites, atheists, papists, etc. ALL unsaved people. Now... ***************HOW WILL THE DEVIL GET PEOPLE TO WORSHIP HIM?************** How will the devil get people to WORSHIP him and the beast? There is one key word for you to know-- deception. People are not going to just out right WORSHIP the devil for who he is, a wild killer that hates everybody. He has to trick people into worshipping him, just like he tricked/beguiled Eve. The old bait n' switch. The devil's power is in his tricks. He is a con artist extraordinaire that preys on the simpleton that won't believe and stick with the word of God. When his tricks meet up with a disobedient, non-Bible reading, lawless, unfaithful, unrighteous, transgressing, sinning individual, then you've got a deceived person. That's the formula--the devil's deceptions plus a rebellious human equals deceived. Church people included. If a person is studies/obeys/trusts the word of God and is full of faith, the devil's deceptions can find no place in him. None. That's why we can't be deceived. ********************DECEPTION IS THE VEHICLE**************** In these last days, deception is the vehicle to take men to worship the beast and the devil. Just like you get in your car to go to the grocery store, deception will take you to worship the devil. The Bible tells us over and over again that the people will be DECEIVED INTO WORSHIPPING the dragon [the devil] and the beast-- FALSE PROPHET CAUSES THE PEOPLE TO WORSHIP THE FIRST BEAST: Revelation 13:12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein TO WORSHIP the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. HE DECEIVES BY HIS MIRACLES: Revelation13:13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 13:14 AND *DECEIVETH* THEM THAT DWELL ON THE EARTH BY THE MEANS OF THOSE MIRACLES which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. Here are just a few more scriptural witnesses that "deception" is an earmark of these last days. "...In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established," we will use this scriptural rule here. Variants of the word "deceit" are in all capitals-- Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man DECEIVE YOU. 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall DECEIVE MANY. 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall DECEIVE MANY. 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall DECEIVE the very elect. 2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, DECEIVING, and being DECEIVED. II Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 2:10 And with all DECEIVABLENESS of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which DECEIVETH the whole world... Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he DECEIVED THEM that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image... Revelation 20:8 And shall go out to DECEIVE the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 20:10 And the devil that DECEIVED them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Titus 1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and DECEIVERS, specially they of the circumcision: Now that that is established, we're on to... ********************DECEPTION DEFINED**************** Just sit for a moment and think of every form of the word "deceive" that you can. Deceive, deceived, deception, deceiver, deceptions, deceit, etc. Go with me and think this thing through, that way you can start punching your way out of deception or possible deception. Somebody out there may need to print this out and read it a few times until in gets in their head REAL GOOD. The very first definition below tells us that deception will cause you to: (1) Believe what is false -- false doctrine/heresy; and/or, (2) Disbelieve what is true -- unbelief Over these years on the 'net, I've seen both of these grisly errors OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. If a person does not get established in the word, they are in some BAD shape. Deceived people really think they are right. Many deceived people have called me a heretick because they believe what is false and really think they are right. People have told me I am of Satan and they think they are saved. Deception is a remarkable thing. It comes in and clouds up people's whole spirit. They can read the Bible but that deception clouds up everything they read. They read with DISTORTIONS. Their mind will implant in the scriptures, something that is not there. For instance, I've had dispensationalists "prove" to me that there is a pre-trib rapture by one verse-- 1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, What is there in that sentence that says anything about escaping the devil's wrath in the great tribulation? There is nothing there concerning that. In fact, it is obvious that it is talking about God's wrath. Just read the whole chapter. It's not hard to see. But if you are deceived, and want to stay that way, it's IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE. Let's look at some definitions from Webster's 1828-- DECE'IVE, v.t. [L to take asid, to ensnare.] 1. TO MISLEAD THE MIND; to cause to err; TO CAUSE TO BELIEVE WHAT IS FALSE, or DISBELIEVE WHAT IS TRUE; to impose on; to DELUDE. Take heed that no man deceive you. Matt. xxiv. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. 1 John i. 2. To beguile; to cheat. Your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times. DECE'IVED, pp. Misled; LED INTO ERROR; BEGUILED; CHEATED; deluded. DECE'IVER, n. One who deceives; one who LEADS into error; a cheat; AN IMPOSTOR. DECE'IVING, ppr. Misleading; ENSNARING; beguiling; cheating. DECE'IVING, ppr. Misleading; ensnaring; beguiling; cheating. DECE'IT, 1. LITERALLY, A CATCHING OR ENSNARING. Hence, the misleading of a person; the leading of another person to believe what is false, or not to believe what is true, and thus to ensnare him; fraud; fallacy; cheat; ANY DECLARATION, ARTIFICE OR PRACTICE, WHICH MISLEADS ANOTHER, OR CAUSES HIM TO BELIEVE WHAT IS FALSE. 2. STRATAGEM; ARTIFICE; DEVICE INTENDED TO MISLEAD. They imagine deceits all the day long. Ps 38. 3. In scripture, that which is obtained by guile, fraud or oppression. Their houses are full of deceit. Jer. v. Zeph. I. 4. In law, ANY TRICK, DEVICE, CRAFT, COLLUSION, SHIFT, COVIN, OR UNDERHAND PRACTICE, USED TO DEFRAUD ANOTHER. [they'll defraud you of salvation. they that worship the Father MUST worship Him in spirit and in TRUTH, not lies.] DECE'ITFUL, a. 1. Tending to mislead, deceive or ensnare; as deceitful words; deceitful practices. Favor is deceitful. Prov. 31. 2. Full of deceit; TRICKISH; fraudulent; cheating; as a deceitful man. DECE'ITFULLY, adv. In a deceitful manner; fraudulently; with deceit; in a manner or with a view to deceive. The sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully. Gen. 37. DECE'ITFULNESS, n. 1. Tendency to mislead or deceive; as the deceitfulness of sin. 2. The quality of being fraudulent; as the deceitfulness of a man's practices. 3. THE DISPOSITION TO DECEIVE; as, a man's deceitfulness may be habitual. DECE'IVABLE, a. 1. SUBJECT TO DECEIT OR IMPOSITION; CAPABLE OF BEING MISLED OR ENTRAPPED; EXPOSED TO IMPOSTURE; as, young persons are very deceivable. 2. Subject or APT TO PRODUCE ERROR OR DECEPTION; deceitful. Fair promises often prove deceivable. DECE'IVABLENESS, n. 1. Liableness to be deceived. 2. LIABLENESS TO DECEIVE. The deceivableness of unrighteousness. 2 Thess. ii. How does deception get into a person? That is for a later email. ************DECEIVED PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THEY ARE DECEIVED******* The thing about a deceived person is that they don't know they are deceived. They think and feel that they are on the right track. It SEEMS like they are doing fine, but-- Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which SEEMETH right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that SEEMETH right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. **********WE NEED AN OUTSIDE MEASURE*********** God says that we have to have some measure outside of ourselves to determine if something is right or wrong. Our own "feelings" will mess us up. "It seems to me," or "I think," or "I'm not sure but", etc. are not acceptable. We need to have some "Thus saith the Lord in the book of I Peter 1:15-16". See, that is the ONLY way you won't be deceived. The outside measure we need is the word. A man flying a plane in bad conditions CANNOT TELL UP FROM DOWN. I've once seen a documentary where the pilot was in cloudy conditions and thought he was going up. The navigator (on the black box) said, "We're going down" (remember the navigator is looking at the instruments on the plane that TELL YOU if you are going up or down. He's not relying on his limited eyes), then you hear the pilot say, "Okay" and then you hear the navigator scream that they were going down. The plane crashed and everybody was killed. The most powerful instrument in the universe is God's word. It is indestructible and infallible. As we are flying through life, we need to believe the instrument rather than our eyes and feelings. The Holy Ghost is like the navigator in this story telling us "You are going down! The word of God says..." But how often do we override DIVINE advice and take our crusty hindparts DOWN. People that don't heed the instrument, the word of God are going to die--and that needlessly. Those that do pay attention, will arrive safe at home. These people do not walk according to seeing of the eye but according to the word of God. So much so that if their eyes and feelings tell them one thing, they let the word OVERRIDE and go with the word. This is some crictical information here. Some people assume, "I know that already" but they DON'T know it because they don't live by it. They do things that are inconsistent with the word. For instance, 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, "Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners" but they still hang out with evil people like it does not apply to them. These people may be "friends or family members" or fictional characters in a romance novel, whores & whoremongers on the internet/in magazines/movies, or they may be soap opera actors on the hellivision. We need to examine what we do, and what we like, AND LET THE WORD OVERRIDE all our activities and thoughts. One more caution about your human mind. The devil THRIVES in the area of human reasoning. He savours that. That's how he got Peter. Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for THOU SAVOUREST NOT THE THINGS THAT BE OF GOD, BUT THOSE THAT BE OF MEN. The devil will wear you out if you go around doing what YOU think is good. Satan doesn't savour and relish what is of God, cause he can't get any ground there. So I know for myself that I'll never be one of his dupes. I love the word. It is my meditation and companion. I like to lay upon my bed and think high thoughts of my God. When I don't do right, I confess and forsake my sins. If we will just put a chapter and verse to everything we do--all our habits, thoughts, etc. we'll be fine. In other words, we must consciously keep ourselves in the love of God. ************WHAT IS THE LOVE OF GOD? YOUR SAFETY IS RIGHT THERE.*************** People think love is a feeling. They may feel good about the Lord this week, but then cool down in their affections next week. They are off balance, unstable as water, doubleminded, like a reed shaken in the wind. The don't understand that love for God is not based on human feelings that waver. The Bible tells us what love is--keeping the commandments of God. All the feelings come on the other side of your OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD-- John 14:21 HE THAT HATH MY COMMANDMENTS, AND KEEPETH THEM, HE IT IS THAT LOVETH ME: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:15 IF YE LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, IF A MAN LOVE ME, HE WILL KEEP MY WORDS: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 1 John 5:3 For THIS IS THE LOVE OF GOD, THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: and his commandments are not grievous. 2 John 1:6 And THIS IS LOVE, THAT WE WALK AFTER HIS COMMANDMENTS. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. 1 John 2:5 But WHOSO KEEPETH HIS WORD, IN HIM VERILY IS THE LOVE OF GOD PERFECTED: hereby know we that we are in him. I John 5:3 For THIS IS THE LOVE OF GOD, THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: and his commandments are not grievous. A person can say all day long, "I love the Lord," but if they don't walk in the light of His word, THEY DON'T LOVE HIM. I'm talking Bible. I don't care how many tongues you think you can speak, how many tears you shed, if you are wicked, you do not love the Lord. I didn't say it. King Jesus did. He shows you up as a fraud-- John 14:24 HE THAT LOVETH ME NOT KEEPETH NOT MY SAYINGS: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. I John 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. If you park right here in the love of God, you will NEVER stumble. BUT, if you refuse to STUDY and OBEY the word then you will be like Eve. *********EVE'S EXAMPLE: SHE WAS DECEIVED/TRICKED/BEGUILED BY THE DEVIL********** Remember that the devil's power is in his TRICKS. He did not say to Eve, "I am the devil. Worship me." He BEGUILED her into disobeying God knowing she'd be under his control once she did-- BEGUI'LE, v.t. begi'le. [be and guile.] To delude; TO DECEIVE; to impose on BY ARTIFICE OR CRAFT. The serpent beguiled me and I did eat Gen.3. BEGUI'LED, pp. Deluded; imposed on; MISLED BY CRAFT; eluded by STRATEGEM.. BEGUI'LING, ppr. Deluding; deceiving by craft; eluding by artifice, AMUSING. If you are disobedient to the word, the devil will come to you right in your sin areas to tempt you and ensnare you. There is plenty of room there for him to move around under cover of DARKNESS. Sin is darkness. The devil loves darkness and hates light. So if you have sins you like, and defend, that's just where the devil is cozed up. You are easy prey and he is a wolf of the evenings-- Jeremiah 5:6 Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and A WOLF OF THE EVENINGS SHALL SPOIL THEM, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: BECAUSE THEIR TRANSGRESSIONS ARE MANY, AND THEIR BACKSLIDINGS ARE INCREASED. Evenings speak to the darkness of your mind concerning your sins. A ravening wolf will tear you up. Even your own iniquities will slay you. Sin is a TERRIBLE thing. Jesus died to save us FROM our sins (Matthew 1:21), not IN our sins. I pray that somebody that reads this meditation will look at their own life. The creatures in Ezekiel had eyes within and without. We need to have that. We need to be looking at our inward and outward lives CONTINUALLY. I don't just sit here and say "Everything about me is perfect". I'm watchful, vigilant, sober. I know what I was. Evil. The hands I used to sin are still here. They are still capable of sin. See, that's why "I keep under my body [as saith Paul] and bring it into subjection lest that by any means when I have preached to others I myself should be a castaway." LOOK AT YOURSELF AND SEE WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU AND START WARRING AGAINST IT. IT WILL BE THE VERY AREA THE DEVIL WILL USE TO GET AN ADVANTAGE OVER YOU. He works in the night, in the darkness, in sin and in ignorance. ****************CONCLUSION**************** 2 Corinthians 4:1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, WE FAINT NOT; 4:2 BUT HAVE RENOUNCED THE HIDDEN THINGS OF DISHONESTY, not walking in craftiness, NOR HANDLING THE WORD OF GOD DECEITFULLY; BUT BY MANIFESTATION OF THE TRUTH commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
