Deception X: Attaining Pentecost, Pt. II

****THE PEARL OF GREAT PRICE****
"The full blessing of Pentecost is to be obtained at no small price. He that
would have it must sell all and forsake ALL. EVERY FACULTY OF OUR NATURE,
EVERY MOMENT OF OUR LIFE, AND EVERY RELIGIOUS WORK OF OUR BODY, SOUL, AND
SPIRIT MUST BE SURRENDERED TO THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD. In NOTHING can
independent control or independent force have a place. Everything must be
under the leading of the Spirit. One must indeed say: 'Cost what it may I am
determined to have this blessing.' Only the vessel that is utterly empty of
everything can be full and overflowing with this living water."
(Experiencing, p. 66)
****TARRY****
If you have the right mindset, and you have asked to be filled with the Holy
Ghost, you must wait until the Lord fills you with His Spirit.
King Jesus told His disciples to ***TARRY*** in the city of Jerusalem until
they be endued with POWER from on high (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4-5, 8). They
prayed and waited for what Jesus promised. You must ASK for the gift and
then in quiet confidence abide in the Lord AND WAIT until the promised gift
comes down. It will not come by your will power. The gift of the Holy Ghost
must literally come down from heaven. WAIT FOR IT. Be obedient. Pray, stay
in the word, repent, do right, mortify--AND WAIT. You cannot make the Holy
Ghost come down by wishing. All you can do is BEG AND WAIT for God to send
Him down. In God's timing, He will send the gift--when you are ready. He
will not disappoint you. If you are obedient, your expectation shall NOT be
cut off. You will know when the fulness comes.
"The blessing of Pentecost is a supernatural gift, a wonderful act of God in
the soul...A Christian can do as little to bring the full life of the Spirit
to fruition in his soul as the virgin Mary did to conceive her supernatural
child (Luke 1:38). Like her, he can only receive it as the gift of God.
(Experiencing, p. 65)
I was read something that said that some of us receive the Holy Ghost with
great joy and rejoicing. For others, the filling and power come without
fanfare, BUT THEY COME. Niagra Falls may fill up my tea cup, and a gentle
flowing stream may fill up yours. One may be rushing and the other calm--BUT
BOTH CUPS ARE FULL, HALLELUJAH AND AMEN! GLORY. Whichever way it is for you,
you will KNOW that something has happened to you. You will feel the power
and pull and it will manifest in your Christian life. Don't just look for a
one time exciting event--look to be changed FOREVER.
****ABIDE****
When the Lord comes in His fullness, ABIDE IN HIM. Keep on going in
obedience. Keep praying, reading the word, serving the Lord, denying self,
serving others and esteeming them BETTER than yourself. As a result, YOU
will become better. The Holy Ghost will energize you to carry on His work.
Another thing--you MUST PRAY. Commune with the Lord. Seek counsel at His
mouth. WHEN YOU ARE CRITICIZED AND PERSECUTED, PRAY until you get the
feelings get off of you. WHEN PEOPLE PRAISE YOU, PRAY until you get the
pride off of you. I'm telling you that once the Lord shows you yourself for
what you really are, you'll never be the same again. And you will echo
Jeremiah 17:5, "CURSED be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his
arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD!"
YOU CAN BE AN ANNOINTED WITNESS AND NEVER TURN BACK TO THE WORLD. YOU CAN
KEEP GOING HIGHER AND HIGHER IN THE FAITH UNTIL YOU DIE. King Jesus is your
strength, wisdom, honour, dignity, power, sanctification, and keeper. The
Holy Ghost will testify of this deep down in your soul. It goes from head
knowledge to your innermost being.
"The joy of the blessing of Pentecost, while it can never be relieved of the
necessity of watchfulness [of yourSELF and others], is a life that is freed
from anxiety and ought to be characterized by CONTINUED GLADNESS. THE LORD
HAS COME INTO HIS HOLY TEMPLE. THERE HE WILL ABIDE AND WORK OUT EVERYTHING.
HE DESIRES ONLY THAT THE SOUL WILL KNOW AND HONOUR HIM AS ITS FAITHFUL
SHEPHERED AND ALMIGHTY KEEPER." (Experiencing, p. 73)
"The fulness of the Spirit is...a constantly flowing stream of the river of
the water of life that issues from beneath the throne of God and of the
Lamb. It is an uninterrupted communication of the life and the love of
Jesus, the most personal and intimate association of the Lord with His own
on the earth. Jesus will certainly do His work of keeping if faith discerns
this truth and cleaves to it with joy.
"...The single aim of the blessing of Pentecost is to reveal Jesus as
Saviour, so that He may exhibit His power to redeem souls in us and by us
here in the world.
"...THE SPIRIT IN US WILL ALWAYS GLORIFY JESUS AND MAKE IT KNOWN THAT HE
ALONE IS TO BE LORD. CLOSE COMMUNION WITH GOD IN THE INNER CHAMBER,
FAITHFULNESS IN SEARCHING HIS WORD AND SEEKING TO KNOW HIS WILL IN THE
SCRIPTURES, SACRIFICING TIME AND BUSINESS TO BRING US INTO TOUCH WITH THE
SAVIOUR--ARE ALL INDISPENSIBLE FOR THE ENRICHMENT OF THE BLESSING. He that
loves His fellowship above everything will have the experience of his
keeping." (Experiencing, pp. 73-75)
*****LEAVE THE STATUS QUO****
"IT IS SAD THAT SO MANY IN THE CHURCH ARE CONTENT WITH THINGS JUST AS THEY
ARE. THEY HAVE NO DESIRE TO KNOW MORE OF THIS SEEKING FOR THE REALITY OF THE
SPIRIT'S POWER. They point to the present purity of doctrine, to the
prevailing earnestness of preaching, to the generous gifts which are made
for the maintenance of religious works and the enterprises of philanthropy.
They look to the interest manifested in education and missions...Such people
would condemn the language of Laodicea and would refuse to say that they
were rich and increased in goods and had need of nothing. YET THERE ARE SOME
TRACES OF THIS SPIRIT IN WHAT THEY SAY. They do not consider the injunction
to be filled with the Spirit. They have forgotten the command to prophesy to
the Spirit and say: 'Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon
these slain, that they may live' (Ezekiel 37:9). When you speak of these
things, you will receive little encouragement from them. THEY DO NOT
UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MEAN [this is so true!]. They believe indeed in the Holy
Spirit, but their eyes have not been opened to the fact that more of the
Spirit is the one thing needed for the Church.
"There are others who will agree with you when you speak of this
need...These people belong to the generation of the ten spies who were sent
to spy out Canaan. The land is glorious, but the enemy in possession is too
strong. We are too weak to overcome them. LACK OF CONSECRATION AND OF
WILLINGNESS TO SURRENDER EVERYTHING FOR THIS BLESSING IS THE ROOT OF THE
UNBELIEF and has made them incapable of exercising the courage of Caleb when
he said: "Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are WELL ABLE to
overcome it" (Numbers 13:30).
"If you would be filled with the Spirit, do not allow yourself to be held
back by such reasonings. ONLY BELIEVE AND STRENGTHEN YOURSELF IN THE
OMINPOTENCE OF GOD. Do not say, 'Is God able?' SAY RATHER, 'GOD IS ABLE.'
The God who was able to raise Christ from the dead is STILL mighty in the
midst of His people and is able to reveal His divine life with power in YOUR
heart." (Experiencing, p. 107-109)
****CONCLUSION****
"The blessing of Pentecost is the birthright of the church." (Experiencing,
p. 50)
Once you attain Pentecost, keep yourself unspotted from the world and your
own flesh. Never return to the vomit (inside corruptions that were purged)
and wallowing in the mire (outside activities that you gave up).
This short meditation is not all that there is concerning the filling of the
Holy Ghost. Get filled and He will guide you into all truth and teach you
how to praise God for who He is.
Some of us are so wrapped up in tradition that we refuse to believe the
scriptures and therefore the Lord can do no mighty work in us. We're in
unbelief like the people of Jesus' own country (Mark 6:5-6). Like them, we
let Him, and His blessing, pass on by. Our great loss.
May the Lord revive His people--
Habakkuk 3:2 O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD,
**REVIVE** THY WORK IN THE MIDST OF THE YEARS, IN THE MIDST OF THE YEARS
MAKE KNOWN; IN WRATH REMEMBER MERCY.
Psalms 85:6 Wilt thou not **REVIVE** us again: that thy people may rejoice
in thee?
...This doctrine of the baptism of the Holy Ghost has been stolen...BUT WE
STILL HAVE A CHURCH. If the Holy Ghost is not empowering it, THEN WHO IS?
Man.

Ezekiel 2:4 For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee
unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD. 2:6 And
thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words,
though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions:
be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be
a rebellious house.
